It is cultivated on varied sorts of soils however deep sandy dirt soil wealthy in organic matter is best. Plant the peach seed about 3-4 inches deep and then cover it with about an inch for overwintering. Water during planting and then only when dry. Seed are mulched with dry grass followed by light irrigation after putting the seed into the pot. After fill it up with mulch and keep it humid and hot specially in spring sun so it’s going to start germination process. What good about peach is that this plant gives fruit in three to four year and if the soil and care are good the fruit comes within a period of three years. Care for a young tree, if leaves get pink then curling the leaves or cut the leaves is the best way to protect the tree which is basically caused due to fungus. The peach plant requires full sun and also air flow to assist the thermal environment for the tree.
Cultivation: Peach can be grown in dry, continental and temperate climate as the tree wants chilling requirements that tropical or subtropical areas generally do not have such an environment . During the chilling period, a chemical reaction occurs then on second stage dormancy the quiescence period starts in which buds break and grow which need sufficient warm weather. Peach can be divided in clingstones or freestones. Both can have either white or yellow flesh. The white flesh is sweet with little acidity whereas yellow flesh has acidic tang with sweetness.
Fertilizer should be in balance ratio of 10-10-10 or 12-12-12 means Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P) and Potassium (K). Slow-release of this mixture is good for plant growth.
